The leaves of a Weeping Fig are small and there are many on one stem, that are glossy and usually dark green or variegated. The bark is a soft brown beige and quite often is braided for appeal. This is an easy plant to take care of since it can still thrive under poor conditions.

The Dirt

Native to Asia and Australia. The Weeping Fig is the official tree of Bangkok. It received its name due to its drooping branches and aerial roots which can descend from the soil. Weeping Fig purifies the air removing formaldehyde, xylene, benzene, trichloroethylene, and on. This plant can be easy propagated and is rarely grown from seed. 

Part Sun

This plant likes most rooms with windows facing west or east. You could place it in a spot away from a very sunny window – as light intensity goes down quick as you move away from the light source.

Medium

Water once a week. Before watering, feel the soil, top layer should be dry, if not dry wait a day or two. If the soil still is wet you risk giving the plant too much water, you don’t want it to rot.

Pet Toxic

Only when ingested it may cause mild oral and gastrointestinal upsetness. Keep out of reach from pets and small children.
